Before purchase, or even before downloading the sample lesson, flip through the lessons for Genesis and Matthew below.

In unit 1 children are introduced to the storyline of the Bible and learn how the first 15 books of the Old Testament fit into that storyline. In this unit children will begin to see how their favorite Old Testament narratives join together to form one Big story of God's great salvation.

In unit 2 as you move through Nehemiah to Micah, children will come to understand sin and the prophets call for repentance, as well as see the prophecies of the coming Messiah. Each week they'll begin to develop a bigger picture of God and His plan to rescue His people.

In unit 3 children will cover the books of Habakkuk to Philippians. In the first few lessons, children will be reminded of the prophet's call for repentance at the end of the Old Testament, and then they will dive into the New Testament to see Jesus as the fulfillment of all the Old Testament prophesies.

In unit 4 children will learn of the teaching to the church and the promise of Christ's return in the second half of the New Testament. Unit 4 also features review lessons to tie the whole series back together and help children remember that the Bible is one BIG story of God's salvation of His people through Jesus.

Fantastic overview of the Bible

This is absolutely one of the best curricula I have used. We still use it as part of our 9.30 teaching hour for school kids. As we encourage this age group to stay in the service. The curriculum goes through the books one book at a time. Gives an overview, a key verse, fun activities and teaches kids how to open their bibles by themselves. The cards come with a summary, key verse and picture and are super helpful together with the motion for weekly review. Slowly the books unveil the big story of the Bible and no lesson is short in pointing to Jesus and the good news. As a children's ministry coordinator I love the look and easyness of it. But also that I know the kids hear the gospel every week and learn how to study the Bible by themselves at one point. As a teacher I love how it is open and go or you can dig deeper in your preparation. Also I've learned so much myself. As the key phrase and motion even help an adult brain to remember a lot. My kids have loved the fun activity pages, the challenges to dig into the Bible for answers and the fun games. They love collecting the memory cards and I'm constantly impressed how much they remembered. This would also be a great curriculum to use for family devotions and homeschool. As you can split the stories and activities over the week!
