Honor Your Mom - Mother's Day Bible Lesson for ages 5-11 (download only)

“Honor Your Mom” is a stand-alone Mother’s Day lesson for Sunday School or children's ministry. In this Mother's Day Bible lesson, children will learn about several Biblical moms, with a focus on the story of Ruth. They'll see how Ruth honored God by honoring her mother-in-law, and they’ll see how as the great-grandmother to King David, Ruth became one of the few moms listed in Jesus’ family tree.

Children will also focus on the 5^th commandment and talk about what it means to honor their mother, thank God for the gift of moms and make something they can give their mom for Mother’s Day. Most importantly, in this lesson, children will see that God’s children are called to obey Him, and one way we can obey God is by honoring our parents, while also seeing that on our own we cannot obey God. We need Jesus to help us obey and honor our moms!

This lesson is designed to be used on Mother’s Day Sunday, or during the week before Mother’s Day and is perfect for slotting in between other curriculum materials.
